I recently installed Qtcreator and when I launch it, i keep getting errors stating that permission to either "qtversion.xml" or "toolChains.xml" is denied. i tried to change the permissions of those files but it didn't work.
To solve the problem I finally had to change the permissions of the whole directory containing the files mentioned above and it worked.
